Shocked but excited at the same time, with the news that Tuomas Saukkonen has disbanded all of his current bands, including Before the Dawn and Black Sun Aeon, and decided to make a fresh start with a new band called Wolfheart.

Only 14 months after the release of Deathstar Rising, Before the Dawn has released a new album, Rise Of the Phoenix, the seventh full length of the band. At 32, the front-man Tuomas Saukkonen seems to be at the top of his game, with two great releases in a 14 months span (and a release of his one-man band Black Sun Aeon in between). He is definitely one of the Melodic Death Metal references these days.
