Nightwish's eighth full-length album was probably the most awaited albuns by the Finnish band's fans. Me included. And maybe that is part of the problem, so I won't talk much about it for now, and wait for Endless Forms Most Beautiful to grow on me, as I hope it will.
For now here is the second advance for the album, the song Shudder Before The Beautiful.

With some drama on the mix, due to the leakage a few days earlier of a low quality version, the Finnish Symphonic Power Metal band has released their newest single, Élan.
Élan is the first advance for their new album Endless Forms Most Beautiful.
The new release is Nightwish eighth full-length album, the first with singer Floor Jansen.

It was the fifth album released by the Finnish Symphonic Power Metal band, the last one with Tarja on the vocals.

Sorry guys, but I never stopped enjoying Nightwish, and now I am completely in love with how they sound with the new singer.

Yesterday, Nightwish announced that Floor Jansen is now officially the permanent singer of the Finnish band.
This is the best choice in my opinion, and great news for the band.

Century Child is the first Nightwish album after Marco Hietala has joined the band, taking over the Bass duties but also the male vocal duties, relieving Tuomas from that burden.
Hietala is an awesome singer and I think it was an awesome acquisiton for the Finnish Symphonic Power Metal band.

This is the seventh full length from the Finnish Symphonic Power Metal band, and at a first glance, it seems that Tuomas Holopainen has been at it in the last four years.

Only a few months later, in the next excursion trip to the same store (they were really cool and didn't mind to let us listen to 20 CDs, and often had good advices on "bands like the X or Y band"), we had another magical moment.
This time, was the band name that caught my attention: Nightwish. The CD cover was purple (hummmm...) and depicted a woman floating in a river, an owl bringing a message, and a planet earth as the eye of an evil-ish grin. It was named Oceanborn.

We were ecstatic with the mix between the keyboards leading the instruments and Tarja's powerful voice. It was love at the first listen.

Some might say she is not a real Metal singer, because her career has evolved many times away from it, but maybe because I feel sympathy for her courage to jump to the stage and fill such hard shoes to wear (or maybe I just like to keep being bashed by Tarja fans), I just have to include Nightwish current singer, Anette Olzon on this Female Metal singers list.
She has a different singing style, and obviously Nightwish old songs don't sound quite the same, but I think that trying to get a Tarja copycat would have been worse for the band, and Annette is a good and experienced singer, and most of all is 100% committed to the band. She is one of the great female voices of Metal.
