Song Of the Day - CCLXXXIV - Woods Of Ypres

Today's song of the day is about a new album and also a memorial to the bands founder.
As Woods Of Ypres latest album, Woods V: Grey Skies & Electric Light, hit the streets, the lead guitarist and singer of the Doom Black Metal Canadian band passed away in a car accident.

Let's make silence in David Gold's memory, and listen to one of his creations.

Song Of the Day - CCLXXVI - Avantasia

One of my favorite Avantasia songs.
It suits perfectly Klaus Meine's voice, and even the riffs and song structure reminds me a Scorpions song.

Song Of the Day - CCLXXII - Metallica

Remembering 1991... The album Metallica, also known as "The Black Album" was the last good album made by Metallica. It's way softer than the previous ones, but it showed the same talent. It opened Metallica's doors to a whole new audience, but at the same time it looks like it was creatively a dead end to the band.
This one is my favorite song from the album.

Metallica - Enter Sandman

Song Of the Day - CCLVII - Raven Dust

It's a happy coincidence that today, in the 471st anniversary of the last time that Portugal had to conquer it's independence by force, I'm introducing here a new and promising Portuguese Metal band.
The idea of Raven Dust exists since 2004, with several names and formations, but only in 2010 they have finally settled and started creating their music. That process culminated in the launch of their first EP, Sinner, last week in Lisbon.

Raven Dust - Eternal Bond
