Sweden (part 5/5) - Other Swedish sounds

This is the final chapter of the chronicle about Swedish Metal. As usual, without a specific genre, just a collection of bands that simply couldn't be left out of any chronicle about this country's Metal scene.

Therion is a Symphonic Metal band, with a rather unique sound, mixing a lot of classical elements in their songs, operatic voices and even have made versions of famous opera themes.

Sabaton is a Heavy Power Metal band, but with a different scent to it, which made them more suitable to be included in this part of the chronicle, instead of the part about Power Metal. Their songs relate to war like themes, but relate also to modern warfare, which is not common, and are full of energy. This is another band that I never heard previously to this chronicle and that goes straight to my gallery of favourite bands.

Once in a while, in these chronicles, I find something completely unique and unseen. This is one of those moments again.
The Diablo Swing Orchestra is classified as Symphonic Avantgarde Metal but in fact is a mix of Jazz with a 40s Swing Orchestra and Metal sounds.

I was introduced to Viking Metal through the music of Thyrfing, a Viking Black Metal band. The video is from their second album Valdr Galga, to be their best work to date.

Other great Viking Black Metal band is Månegarm.
