Song Of the Day - LXXXV - South American Metal Tour: Brazil

When in 2000 a split in Angra caused the departure of André Matos, Luis Mariutti and Ricardo Confessori, leaving just Rafael Bittencourt and Kiko Loureiro, many people thought that Angra was over. But it didn't.
The ones that left the band, formed a new band, Shaman, together with Luis's brother, Hugo, with the same melodic roots of Angra. After 6 years and two full lengths, this band also suffers a split, leaving Ricardo Confessori alone, and having to rebuild the band from scratch. Everyone thought that Shaman was finished ... wrong again!
With Léo Mancini, Fernando Quesada and Tiago Bianchi they have released another two full lengths.

Shaman - Blind Messiah

André Matos and the Mariutti brothers have, meanwhile, formed yet another band, this time called simply André Matos, which you should also check, since André's voice is awesome.

  1. Hello, guys. Just thought you would appreciate some help with the Brazilian Tour. Not that I know many bands from here, but I guess some tips are of value. There is a band called "Hexafônicos", that I don't know exactly how to classify. They mix many metal styles with Brazilian rythms. Hope you like it.

Also, if you have some time (i mean, lots of time), perhaps, and just perhaps, you'll find something of value here:
    www.palcomp3.com

This site focus on independent and/or small Brazilian bands. Actually, there are just a few metal groups but, as I said, IF you have some free time...
By the way, you doing a nice job, keep up.
