I hate it when a band that I love goes into a path that produces music that I don't like. But I have to respect the band's choice and I am pragmatic about it. You won't find me listening to an album I don't like, just because I was a fan of the band's previous albums.
That's why you won't see here a song of the day from this year's In Flames album, although it's one of my favourite bands.
Why this introduction? Because today is about Amorphis, and Amorphis is one of those rare bands that kept changing and evolving from album to album, but always kept me interested in their sound.
They started by "inventing" the Melodic Death Metal and then went on and on, introducing new variants to the genre in each album, always around Melodic Metal.
The tenth full length of the band, is a great album, but also a very interesting one, because it sounds like a summing up of the path the band has followed in the last twenty years, which even relates with the title, The Beginning Of Times.
